I'm Gerson Ruiz, a software developer with over 10 years building web applications. I started out in Front-End and today I work end to end: interface, API and database.
I've worked on product teams (Alegra, Netzun), in the public sector (National Library of Peru) and in consulting, alongside my own freelance clients. That path taught me to step into someone else's codebase, understand the business behind it and ship without friction.
My ground is JavaScript and TypeScript — Vue, Nuxt, Angular and React on the Front; NestJS and Laravel on the Back — and I've taken Rust with Tauri to desktop applications. I use AI models daily as a working tool.

Tools I build to solve my own needs.
Desktop app
Matroska metadata
I started this project because I needed to change the metadata in MKV files more easily and quickly, such as the general video title, video name, audios and subtitles. Also setting whether an audio or subtitle is default or forced, which are the main options in the view.
The manipulation of commands and data formats is done in Rust. In addition, it has a store for storing language settings and color mode.
The program executes commands from specialized tools to modify the files: it uses MediaInfo to read the video data structure and mkvpropedit, from MKVToolNix, to write the new metadata.
